As of Wednesday July 28 Bridgewater State College is now
Bridgewater State University. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick signed a bill that changed the names of most of Massachusetts State Colleges. So far it looks as if the State Universities will not be run as U-Mass branches. Time will tell.
